Entity inspector errors with embedded entity

Hi Team,

If entity has below settings:

As I see it, this is the expected behaviour since the embedded ReferenceToEntity id is marked as nullable.
Thus, for this entity it is impossible to set an object in the edit form, because it is null.

The view will be able to open if the embedded entity is not null - i.e. created during the origin entity creation process.
To do this, you need to add the @EmbeddedParameters(nullAllowed = false) annotation to the field.

E.g.:

    @EmbeddedParameters(nullAllowed = false)
    @Embedded
    @AttributeOverrides({
            @AttributeOverride(name = "entityId", column = @Column(name = "TEST_ENTITY_ID")),

Yes, the problem is @EmbeddedParameters(nullAllowed = true). In my uploaded test project, I used the name id for convenience. But in real project, the embedded attribute could be null, for example, the address of a person, when creating a new person, the address should be null.

An entity of this type cannot be opened in a generic form, as is done in the entity inspector.
Let’s look at the following example:

You have a Person entity and an embeddable Address entity, which can be null.
Let’s imagine that we created a standard list and detail views for them.
When opening the view, the Address entity is not created, so it is null. This means it is not placed in the view’s DataContext. And the fields associated with it do not change any entity, because the entity is null.
If we enter values in all fields, only the person entity attributes will be saved.
E.g.:
Creating a new entity

Reopen the detail view

In order for the Address entity to be saved, we will have to create and merge it to the DataContext at some point.
In this case, the developer clearly wants the entity to be created on this view under certain circumstances (clicking on a button when creating an origin entity or something else). In any case, such logic will be custom.

In the EntityInspector, a generic approach is used. The inspector must have expected behaviour. If a Person entity has a nullable embedded Address, then should we create it every time an entity is created?
In the generic approach this can’t be implemented as expected.
There is no right decision on what to do in this case, whether to create an embedded entity or not. This decision must be made by the developer. Therefore, to edit this type of entity, you need to create your own views.

It may be necessary to issue a human readable error message, or somehow refactor the creation of this type of entity (for example, open a dialog with a choice of whether an embedded entity is needed or not).
I will discuss this with my colleagues.
