Is it safe to update to v2.x of the IntelliJ plugin, even if one has no intention of using Jmix v2.x?

Jmix Studio plugin 2.0 is fully compatible and recommended to use with Jmix versions 1.X. Except Jmix 2.0 support it has several improvements and bug fixes delivered that relevant for older framework versions.
