I was actually hoping to find that in jmix 2.x there would be data-aware versions of link/linkbutton.
To my surprise, the components no longer exist?

Could please explain a little bit more what do you mean by “data-aware” version of linkbutton?
As of simple links you can use anchor html element, just like in the last example in these html components samples

actually … data-aware is not my terminology. … it’s yours 
I guess it means it can be backed by the model through databinding. I’d like that for the url property.
Regarding creating links it is suggested to stick to the vaadin anchor component
If you want to define some custom logic to execute you can use button with theme variant with tertiary theme for example
